Sporting Injuries

Sick of experiencing Sporting Injuries?

Are injuries preventing you from performing your best? Do your injuries keep recurring? Are you looking for the performance advantage?
At Sports & Spinal Albury we treat a wide variety of athletes, from the “weekend warrior” to the elite athlete.

Our Osteopaths are exceptional.  We are regularly the first point of call for the region’s best athletes, including footballers, netballers, soccer players and cricketers, as they look for a solution to their injuries.  Our clients include national representatives in water polo, golf and basketball, all of whom are looking to improve performance and prevent injuries.   Whilst the vast majority of us will never be elite at our chosen sport, our experience treating these people means we understand the needs of each and every sport, including the demands placed on the body and how to resolve these.

Osteopathy is perfectly suited to help prevent and treat many sporting injuries, including:

  • Neck and back strains
  • Shoulder, elbow and wrist injuries
  • Hip and pelvic injuries
  • Knee, leg and ankle injuries

We are different….we don’t just treat the injury, we find the cause!

Too often we see athletes that have been struggling with injury, whether it be delayed healing time or that it just keeps recurring.  As Osteopaths we are highly trained to identify the underlying cause of the problem, not just treat the injury itself.  We have long appointment time to allow us to adequately assess, diagnose and treat your injury whilst also giving you exercises and advice on how to overcome your complaint.

Why settle for second best?

What to expect in your consult?

Your initial consultation will involve a comprehensive assessment where we ascertain your relevant past history, including previous injuries and medical history, followed by a physical exam to determine not only the diagnosis but also find the root cause of your problem. This will be discussed with you and a treatment plan will be formulated to accommodate your needs.

The treatment itself will vary from individual to individual, but will often include a combination of hands on therapies, dry needling, taping, advice, exercise prescription as well as other options.
