When we began our Osteopathic clinic, Sports & Spinal Albury in 2014, our goal was to provide Albury Wodonga with a client-centred approach to healthcare that is unmatched in the region. Since then, we have rapidly built a reputation of being an industry leader.
We have now become, more often than not, the first port of call for many people with any level of pain or discomfort. This is something, as Osteopaths, we have battled in the past. Historically people have seen a myriad of other health professionals before coming our way. But we are proud to say that is not the case anymore.
There is no secret behind why we became so big so quickly. Our formula is simple…..WE ACTUALLY CARE. We want you to feel like you have just become part of our family and as such, everyone is treated that way. We take our time to get to know you and your history, discuss reasons for your injury and the expected outcomes and what you can do to help yourself. Most importantly of all, we are honest.
Goodbye to where it all began in Albury
We started our clinic, in combination with local physiotherapy practice, Back On Track Physiotherapy, on level 1, 429 Swift St, Albury. Here we spent 5+ years in a couple of small, windowless rooms. Treating thousands of happy clients here, helping them continue or reignite their health journey, this place will always hold a special place in Sports & Spinal Albury’s history.
Whilst we had a great time together, all good things must come to an end. We thank Back On Track Physiotherapy for their time together, the many shared memories and we wish them all the best in the future. We know they will do great things.
As we know, all good things must come to an end. With both businesses’ rapidly expanding and lack of space, the time had come for us to go our separate ways.
Where do you find our Osteopaths now?
The good news is we are only 3 minutes down the road from our old premises on Young St (or the old Hume Highway for those of you still living in the past). We have painted our rendered fence teal and with some fantastic new signage thanks to Signarama Albury, you can’t miss us. We are nearly directly opposite Back Straight Massage and Butt’s Smokehouse, just north of Scot’s School. Plenty of street parking is available but also have a large carpark out the back if you enter via our driveway.
What have we done differently?
In keeping with the way we do things at Sports & Spinal Albury, we didn’t just want to move anywhere. We had a vision in mind. Our focus was making you, the client, enjoy an amazing experience each and every time you venture into the clinic, thus we moved away from the modern-day norm with good reason. Many health businesses these days claim to be “client-centred”, yet when they move, they end up in yet another boring, white-walled premises with poorly thought out furniture, small treatment rooms and a lack of natural light. This is just not us. We want our place to be grand, just like the treatments we deliver. So, without further ado, we will take you through the amazing new space we have created and why we have done things this way.
Plenty of car parking in larger car parking spaces.
We have a flash new car park. Complete with spaces for seven cars, including a mobility disability space, we have one of the best small business car parks in Albury. Because we understand that getting out of your car in a place like the Volt Lane carpark is difficult, even more difficult when you are in pain or feeling really stiff, we have made our parks even wider than required.
Great shade for future years
Whilst at the moment their age keeps them from giving you the shade this space will require, in the not so distant year these trees will provide more than ample shade to keep your car cool during those hot summer months.
A grand main entrance
We know you that you have come to the right place, but we want you to make sure you know you have. Our entrance has been thoughtfully planned with you, the client, in mind. As you venture from our carpark into our main entrance (the old back door), you will pass onto our exposed aggregate walkway, with garden beds both sides, a decorative screen to conceal our outdoor staff area and the outdoor piece de résistance, our water fountain. Who doesn’t love the calming sound of flowing water. It brightens up everyone’s mood……and it will set the tone for the rest of your experience.
…..But not to be outdone
Our “front door” entrance is amazing in a different way. After parking on the street, you venture in through our rendered teal fence, walk along a concrete path, past an amazing Crepe Mertle in the centre of a stone lined front courtyard before heading onto the front deck and into a business that clearly cares about the impression it makes on you.
We didn’t just want another boring old reception area in our clinic
How often do you just walk into a clinic and just feel a sense of déjà vu? Another white walled room, with a little light and a cheap looking reception desk. Why does every practice think healthcare should look like this? We definitely don’t. We want you to understand that you are going to be looked after. Cared for in a way that you have never experienced previously, a way that some may not have even known was even possible. An abundance of natural light greets you as you walk into this area. Soft, yet warming colours have been used around the space with freshly polished floorboards underneath your feet. The big winner though, our incredible reception desk, inclusive of marble stone, has been a real winner with everyone that has ventured through the doors so far.
Our clinic rooms are spacious……..to say the least
The rooms we had previously were great. They suited our needs well. However, what we have now is so much better. Larger than normal treatment rooms mean we have room to assess, treat and prescribed exercises without feeling like you are a squashed sardine……and of course in keeping with the rest of the building, the room is warm and inviting.
So that is about it for now. We absolutely love what we have been able to create for you, our loyal clients. We could not have been where we are today without your unwavering support. This space is as much for you as it is for us. Part A of our masterplan is now complete. Part B will come in the not too distant future. We cannot wait to share that with you as well, when it is finished.
Until then, stay healthy, happy and injury free!
